Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I managed to get back the 2 free passes to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... actually my dad did. He cooked up a story about being out of the country and stuff, and managed to collect 2 tix. At a special premiere at GSC Mid Valley, 9.30 pm, yesterday (15th November, Tuesday). Anyway, there were some really crazy fans at the special screening... I saw this Malay girl wearing Gryffindor robes and holding a "wand"... damn funny lah... and they had this special 3D board in front of the cinema, and there were VIP signatures there... I actually saw Jojo Struys's signature there! Too bad I didn't have my camera phone with me, otherwise I would have taken a pix. The movie took so unbelieveably long to start... we watched trailers for Ice Age 2, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Narnia and King Kong. When the movie actually started, someone actually bellowed, "Harry Potter!" and everybody laughed. The movie was good, but they cut out a lot of parts in the movie, such as Hermione's S.P.E.W project, and the spider and the sphinx in the maze challenge. But it was really scary and dark, especially in the maze challenge scene. The hedges are like alive and they actually swallowed Fleur Delacour (Clemence Posey) up (and she was really pretty I tell you). Viktor Krum was really jockish, looked like a regular idiot (why Hermione fell for him I can't imagine). Cedric Diggory (Robert Pattinson) was good looking and tall, just like the book said (my sis said he was divine - he has really high cheekbones... pity he died at the end of the movie.) Harry and Ron's hairstyle is really hideous... Daniel Radcliffe's acting is just as wooden as ever, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson is good. But I think they could have done a better job with Cho Chang (Katie Leung)... she's just so fat and so Scottish (she pronounces "go" as "goo") and so Asian... and she's going to kiss Harry in the Order of the Phoenix! Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) was so creepy and evil... and so horrifyingly ugly... he looks like a half-deformed skeleton. And the Dark Mark was so cool! My favourite scene was the Underwater Challenge Scene... the Merpeople and the Grindylows are so ugly, but it was so different from the book. I won't ponder on it, check the differences yourself. Anyway, overall it's a good movie. I give it a rating of 4/5. Now that I've watched Harry Potter, I'm looking forward to the Chronicles of Narnia!
